Rookie TreVeyon Henderson has tallied five TDs during the current campaign

The New England Patriots tied their top unbeaten stretch since the Brady period as they overcame division rivals the Jets by 13 points in the NFL

Rookie Henderson led the way with three TDs as the New England squad secured an eighth straight win for the initial occasion since legendary quarterback Brady's closing campaign with the team in the 2019 season

QB Maye threw for 281 yards and a TD, completing 25 of 34 passes

The triumph increases the Patriots advantage at the summit of the AFC East as they moved to nine victories against two losses, with the New York at the foot after falling to two victories and eight defeats

The opposing team had taken the lead at their home field with quarterback Justin Fields running in a short rushing score to conclude the Jets' opening drive

But the New England responded in the second period as the rookie ran in two seven-yard touchdowns before the ball carrier hauled in a throw from Drake Maye at the back of the end zone halfway into the third quarter to push the score to 21 to 7

"That was a crucial moment for him rising to the challenge, and it's been great for him to keep earning playing time," the quarterback said of Henderson. "He desires to be excellent."

Justin Fields connected with Metchie in the latter part of the third period to reduce the lead for the Jets but Borregales booted a pair of field goals in the fourth quarter as the Patriots closed out the win
