The Initial Xbox Game Pass Additions of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.

Across the gaming landscape, enthusiasts continue to ring the knell for the green team. Xbox was recently outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Platform-specific outlets are now publishing content on PS5 topics for the first time. Last year proved to be an era of significant turmoil for Xbox and Microsoft. But if we're going solely off the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it becomes clear that Xbox remains determined to attract subscribers with quality releases on its premier subscription.

The Available Now Titles

The two games you can play right now at this moment, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's worth getting excited about.

Upcoming Headline Games

Come mid-January, the platform will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that deviates from the standard Ubisoft formula with an intergalactic heist adventure. Another big get is Resident Evil Village featuring the towering Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "the perfect cocktail of frights and fights."

Noteworthy Smaller Games

But even the smaller games set to join the catalog are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike that's a blast to play, arrives January 7th — and it's worth experiencing whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.

The British post-apocalyptic game from last year may draw you in in about 15 minutes flat.

Atomfall, the stealth survival game by the makers of Sniper Elite, also warrants your attention. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.

A Well-Rounded Collection

All in all, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, and they are also not first-party juggernauts that justify the service alone. But Microsoft's additions here are exceptionally strong. There's a good mixture of old games you might have missed and relatively recent releases that didn't get the attention they were due initially — rendering them ideal prospects to get a second chance on Game Pass.

You might need to brace yourself to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, as it happens.
