Over a fortnight after the tragic deaths of celebrated filmmaker Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones continue to honor the duo.

Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director

Posting on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, explained he finally felt prepared to post publicly about his deep grief.

"Sufficient time has gone by that I can at last articulate my loss into words," shared Elwes, adding that his introductory moment with Reiner created an instant bond. "When we commenced passing more hours together I understood this was someone I wanted in my life."

The actor shared behind-the-scenes footage from the film, remarking that he cannot recall "one day without laughter".

"This story is about affection, allegiance and giving. Things that Rob held dear. That is part of the many reasons he was the ideal person to helm it," Elwes wrote.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, stating: "Claiming that they were a formidable pair would be an oversimplification. My heart still pangs every time I recall you." He finished with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Fellow Artist

In a separate tribute, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the main character.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked seamlessly with his co-stars, and he understood the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese noted.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Sealed

In a new development, a Los Angeles superior court judge decided to bar the disclosure of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, after an appeal from the LAPD.

A court order put a embargo on the cases to restrict the public release of "any investigative information, evidence and photographs" associated with the active case.

The relevant authority had earlier stated their deaths were the result of homicide, with a public database listing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

In the wake of the killings, public individuals expressed varying comments.

Former President Donald Trump posted on the matter, providing controversial remarks that were widely condemned by many commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan added his voice to the those speaking out last week. Speaking on his show, Rogan characterized the comments as "disappointing" and remarked they showed a worrisome lack of empathy.
